PRIMAVERA

Printemps was the first of the "department stores" to want to have a design workshop in 1912. This was made possible thanks to the intervention of Pierre Laguionie, the store's director, and René Guilleré, a lawyer who was also behind the Société des artistes décoratifs.
They will develop a range of furniture, ceramics, wallpapers and even glassware with the aim of introducing art and beauty into the daily lives of the French through French craftsmanship.
They purchased a faience workshop in Touraine and hired numerous artists such as Paul Jacquet, Charlotte Chauchet, and Claude Lévy. All of this came to an end in 1972, after sixty years of production.
