RAAK

Raak was founded in 1954 by Carel O. Lockhorn, a former Philips Lighting employee. Lockhorn's ambition was to create modern and elegant lighting fixtures to appeal to a wealthy audience. In the 1960s, the brand worked with Franck Ligtelijn, who created glass and chrome lighting fixtures, and Van Oyen, who drew inspiration from the stained-glass windows of Chartres. In the 1970s, it collaborated with designers such as Cesare Casati, Emanuele Ponzio, and Sergio Asti. This allowed the company to expand and become internationally known.
