Raphaël RAFFEL
Raphaël Raffel (1912-2000), a French designer, studied at the École des Beaux-Arts and began working in this field in 1934. He was quickly noticed for his talent for creating furniture, wall decorations, and lighting. One of his first clients was Joséphine Baker. He also worked for embassies, university residences, and even for the furnishing of an ocean liner in tandem with André Arbus. His particularity was that he continued to advocate craftsmanship and therefore refused to mass produce and continued to stamp his furniture.
